Paul Reeves Bike Art
Double Carrier- A ten speed going one way and a mountain bike going the other way, an old Ikea table for a front rack and a weight lifting bench framed the back rack. The forth wheel under the bike helps reduce front end wobble at high speed.
Grocery Bike- The handlebars are from an excercise machine. The basket is framed with the backs of two kitchen chairs and i extended the frame forward so the forks were centred straight up over the turning axis to balance on both wheels in front.
Ross Brown Special- For a crane operator friend who could make anything, this wooden classic features a springier front end that compresses a spring that was part of a dogs lunge line. The hand carved dagger shifter controls the gears at the back and the leather on the seat was the tongue of an old winter work boot. You can even see the laces under the seat.
Rode Hugger- This low rider is a combination of two mountain bike swing arms, parts from a weight lifting bench and a seat made from the rubber of a conveyor belt.
Low Slinger- The backbone for this stylish roadster was part of a projector stand. The seat pivots and is cushioned by a mountain bike shock and a yard umbrella helped from the handlebars.
Blue Marauder- My back was getting wet so i made these fenders from an old bicycle tire and some stiff stainless steel wire.
Midnight Rambler- Originally a lady's bike the crossbar on this bike is made from the leg of a kitchen chair. I had the rear brake caliper down under the chain to highlight the chrome fenders and buried the cables in the frame.
Canada Day- A sore back from the old ten speed handlebars led to the nice comfortable upright ride thanks to these longhorn handlebars fashioned from the upright handle of an old treadmill. I put both brakes on the back wheel for fun and buried the cables inside the frame. I painted the bike red and white because i finished it for Canada Day.
Junior Compact- Part Scooter and part mountain bike, this little baby can turn on a dime and do figure eights with ease.
Cherry Bomb- I chopped the fenders, lowered the seat, styled the frame and added patio furniture handle bars to customize the roadster.
Black Beauty- A square tube from an exercise machine makes the backbone for this front wheel drive bicycle. When i showed this bike to my friend George, he offered these baby ape hanger handlebars from his old Harley instead of the flat ones i had chosen and they really make the bike complete.
Monster Bike- The front wheel on this concept bike was from the rear of a motorcycle and the back wheels from an ATC. The cylinders expand with air and mechanical springs to control the suspension up and down. The prime drive is a chain and the secondary dive is homemade with wood and rubber pulleys and rope.
